My Teacher Said.....

Today I picked David up from school, and as he's getting in the car, he immediately tells me, "I didn't cry today!" Which is a good thing, because he had been crying saying that he wanted to be with me. So anyway, he also shows me a bag of candy that his teacher gave him, and said he got it for being good. So we get home and he asked if he could have one, I said "yes but only one." Well we finished eating lunch and he tells me, "my teacher said I could eat the candies." I said, " I told you no more candy." He starts telling me a story on how his teacher told him it was ok, that's why she gave it to him, on and on and on. It's pretty funny, but it's also an eye opener, because he is listening to everything that his teacher says, and she might say something that I don't need for him to learn. (So of course, this is where we come in as parents and teach him differently.) He tends to say that a lot. "My teacher said to sign this, my teacher said to wear this, my teacher said to stop crying, my teacher said I could bring my lion, my teacher said that we couldn't do that........." and the list goes on. It does make me realize, that he is small, but he listens to what everybody says. He's just so funny. But it's not always "my teacher said," you can also hear him singing his Sunday school songs, and repeating the verses that he has learned. These kids truly are like sponges.

I'm sure these are the moments in your life that you look forward to. I can only imagine what my kids will be like, how they will make me laugh and cry. Everyone says that it's the best feeling in the world. I know it was a great awesome feeling to have life in my body. So I can only imagine. I enjoy these stories the best I think, it gives me something to look forward to.

@Lucy, one day, you'll see! When I was in the situation that you are in, the Lord gave me something through His word, it's Isaiah 54. It's beautiful! Read it when you have time.
